BiographyEdit

Early LifeEdit

Sometime before he turned 21, Mike's father Joe walked out of the family. (Unleash the Kraken!) When he turned 21, Mike was taken into a forest by his mother Elizabet to initiate the ceremony that would turn him into a God. When it was over, Elizabet told her son he was Ullr, and asked that he look after his brothers, as she had decided to leave to become a tree. (And Then She Will Come To You)

However Mike revelled with his new powers, and shirked his responsibilities. He would use them to constantly win bets with other partons at a local bar in Danniverke. However a fight after a game of pool resulted in his best friend Rob falling into a coma. Blaming himself, Mike realised he had to behave more appropriately and that using his powers did nothing but cause harm to those around him. In time he fell in love with Rob's girlfriend, Valerie, and they eventually married. (This Is Where Duty Starts)

After Anders turned 21 and became Braggi, Anders used his powers to seduce Valerie into having sex with him, claiming that he intended to cause them to split up as she clearly still loved her comatose fiancée. However the plan failed and the incident only drew them closer together, while he and Anders kept little contact with one another. ()

Mike and Val often unintentionally interfered with Axl trying to score with girls, on one occasion getting caught by him themselves. (This Is Where Duty Starts)

Season 1Edit

Mike was outdoors watching the shooting stars, when Val came and suggested they get into bed together. Later they felt an earthquake and huddled together until it passed. Later he arranged with Ty, Anders and Olaf to get moving so that they could get ready for the ceremony that would turn Axl into a God. When Axl was dubious, Ty suggested that Mike show off his ability to win games with a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors, which freaked Axl out. After Axl was transformed, the near-unconscious Olaf claimed that he was Odin, a fact which worried the brothers.

Mike warned Axl to be responsible and not spread the news, and when the 21st party for him started he reluctantly told Axl of their mother’s decision to become a tree. When Anders arrived with two women for Axl, Mike scolded him for showing up and exploiting his powers, but Anders told him to chill. When Olaf woke up, he explained that there were signs of Odin’s return, most of which had come true, but when Axl was led off by a strange woman, he used his powers to track them but were too late to keep Axl from being shot with an arrow. Though he was alright in the end, the final sign came to be, and as Axl was now Odin, he would need to find Frigg or else if he died, they all would. (It's Kind Of A Birthday Present)

Season 2Edit

Following his divorce, and after moving in with Axl and Zeb, Mike fell back into his old ways, using his powers to win bets for money and apliances, and sleeping with many women he met in bars. After Axl insisted that he help with the Quest to find Frigg, Mike relented and they set off across the city to pick up a trail. Mike eventually found one, though it only seemed to lead them to another bar where Olaf and Ingrid had stopped in, though Mike seemed certain that there was something else going on.

When it came time for Ty and Eva's homewarming, Mike was less than happy with Ty's drinking and drugging, and erratic behavior. He was even more upset to discover that Agnetha was the boys' mother Elizabet, and that Anders had known. He tracked her down and demanded proof, and reluctantly agreed to pass on her offer to the others to give up the Quest and live like Gods with the money she had made. However Axl didn't feel like complying, so they and Olaf decided to follow Mike's senses, only to wind up back at the same bar as earlier. However Kvasir, the wisest of all the Gods was there, so they demanded answers from him, and Mike had to keep the angered Olaf back, however Kvasir escaped. (And Then She Will Come To You)

Season 3Edit

In season 3, Mike becomes an even harder edged person; more controlling and more interested in controlling the actions of the other family members and gods. He also discovers a creative way to use his Ullr powers to defeat other gods, by turning their confrontations into a game; he does this to both Loki and Heimdallr. As the other members of the family start to act independently of Mike's will he becomes more and more obsessed with controlling the actions of his family and friends because he believes that he knows best. He is at first very upset with Ty exposing the world of the gods to Dawn. Then Mike takes issue with Michele's use of the Yggdrasil branch to heal people (and to profit from it), this would lead to Mike destroying the branch. Mike's desire for power would lead him to eventually betray Axl and seek for himself Frigg and the mantel of Odin.

PersonalityEdit

Since he turned 21 in fact, Mike has been the de facto father, bringing up his younger brothers in the absence of both parents. He’s a builder; a practical, no-nonsense, kind of guy with a very strong moral code. Mike takes life very seriously – too seriously sometimes – because sometimes he feels like the weight of the world has been placed on his shoulders.

As his power is derived from the God of skill, hunt and duel, this essentially translates, in modern terms, as “never take on this man at board games, darts or sundry other trivial forms of man-to-man competition”. Mike can beat just about anyone at anything from Scrabble to snooker; from poker to Playstation. As watered-down super-powers go, at least this one has an element of both fun and the ability to generate income. But Mike chooses to do nothing with his powers. He is the staunchest advocate of the “we must never use our powers” school of thought. He is, in fact, staunch about this very thing to the point of obsession. This is because he is the keeper of the secret. He knows what being Gods did to his parents; how it ripped them apart. And he knows, more than any of them, the dangers of using his godlike powers.

Fit in, fly under the radar; don’t stand out from the crowd - these are the rules Mike lives by. And live by these rules he so very has – to an almost monastic extreme. He’s fashioned a life way out in the suburbs, so low-key anyone would think he was in a witness protection program. Mike has had leadership and responsibility put upon him and, for the most part, he has dealt with this well – albeit with a stoicism that sometimes makes the other Johnson boys want to slap him and tell him to chill out, have some fun. But the price he’s paid for doing his duty is that he has mistaken what he’s living through, for an actual life.

Former PowersEdit

Enhanced Tracking - With this power, Mike could track others down easily, however he needed an idea of what direction the subject went in or simply know who they are (in the case of Frigg, Mike needed to actually see a picture of Hanna as a child before he knew where to find her).

Tychokinesis - This ability allowed Mike to manipulate the laws of probability subconsciously, it allowed him to win any games of chance he participated in, as well as contests between him and another participant. However this power did not extend to games he did not participate in, such as gambling on horse races, and it did not impact upon Mike's own luck.

RelationshipsEdit

The Johnson FamilyEdit

Having looked after his brothers since he was 21, Mike had become somewhat of a father figure to them, though his overt responsibility and morals often conflicts with theirs.

ValerieEdit

Around the age of 21, Mike accidentally caused his best mate Rob to go into a coma. Valerie was in love with Rob, and continued to care about him greatly even after he fell into a coma. Mike and Valerie grew closer, and, despite Anders' attempt to keep the two from getting closer from guilt, fell into was apparently love and eventually got married. The two have had many troubles in their married life, including being unable to conceive a child together. Since Rob has woken up Valerie has supported him greatly, leaving Mike worried about where they all stand despite her assurance he was the one she's in love with. However while in Danniverke with Rob, they had an affair, and six weeks later learned she was pregnant with his baby. Valerie told Mike that she was still in love with Rob, and Mike decided to leave her.

One-NightersEdit

During a fight with Valerie, Mike went out gambling and inadvertantly caused the blackjack dealer Jackie to lose her job. Mike felt sorry for her, and attempted to make things right. Though he wouldn't say how, he told her that he could win any game he wanted, and after a night of proving it, Jackie left him her number and the two shared a quick kiss.

Mike proceeded to have many one night stands with mortal women, whom he mostly met in bars. The last of these was a woman whom's boyfriend had offered as a prize for winning a game of pool.

MicheleEdit

Michele appeared to have an eye on Mike for a while, and even while she was with Colin, it was clear that there was a spark between them. After she gave Colin the boot, Michele decided to get things on with Mike, and the two played flirtacious games with one another, mostly based around their powers, and Mike told her he would consider taking things further if she hooked up the unlovable Zeb with someone. After she did so, they continued to play their flirting game until they slept together. Though they had agreed to keep things fairly casual, they do seem to have become close and care about one another.

About the god UllrEdit

Ullr, Old Norse,  in Norse mythology, the god of snowshoes, hunting, the bow, and the shield; he was a handsome stepson of the thunder god Thor. Ullr possessed warrior-like attributes and was called upon for aid in individual combat. He resided at Ydalir (Yew Dales).

Although not much has been recorded about Ullr, he must have been a very prominent deity in the Norse pantheon at one time because, according to one tradition, the god Odin offered Ullr’s favors as a reward to the one who would aid him. In addition, Ullr’s name appears as part of many Swedish and Norwegian place-names. In the chronicles of the Danish historian Saxo Grammaticus, Ollerus is the equivalent of Ullr.
